Chakra is an ancient Sanskrit which translates as ‘energy vortex’ or ‘powerhouse’, which refers to the circular motion of energy which is absorbed and processed by the chakras. They also known as ‘subtle sense’ organs, which respond to vibrations created by our levels of energy and consciousness, feeding from the energy line which runs along the spine, which allows each chakra to supply energy to a specific area of the body.

The heart chakra – located close to the sternum - is in effect a central interface through which all of the other chakras can be reached, acting a point of balance. Similar to the heart, a balanced and active heart chakra is necessary for good health in particular heart rhythm, respiration, lower lung and the immune system (thymus gland).
It will carry energy through the rest of the body’s circuits, allowing individuals to feel good about them self. Symbolised by green, the colour for harmony, a well-balanced heart chakra will is characterised by personal responsibility, acceptance of yourself and others, strong ethics and the ability to find your direction in life. If this chakra is out of balance, it could adversely affect relationships, self-discipline and the ability to take responsibility for personal happiness.
Therapy singing bowls can rebalance the heart chakra by providing positive soothing vibrations through the nervous system, which in turn will be beneficial for a feeling of well-being and confidence.
