Sounds accompanies us from the beginning
The rich in overtone sounds of a singing bowl seem to be so familiar because they resemble the background noise, as perceived by an unborn child in the womb. The anaesthesiologist Dr. Fred J. Schwarz conducts research to music therapy using the sounds, also known as "Womb Sounds" http://www.sound-remedies.com/tran2cdset.html, as they come, for example, in the context of intensive care of premature infants for use.
The familiar sounds help to reduce stress and improve sleep phases, so that the development of the newborn is positively influenced. Given this context, it is not surprising that the sounds of the singing bowls quickly create an atmosphere of safety and security - ideal conditions for relaxation.
Sound Massage with singing bowls
A sound massage lasts about an hour. A short pre-conversation tunes you in for the following sound massage. First you are on the abdomen. Different sized singing bowls are placed around or on your dressed body. After about 25 minutes treating the back, the front of the body is pampered for another 15 minutes with the sound vibrations. You do not need to do anything, know nothing, pay attention to anything – you may simply be, feel and enjoy. Everything else happened all by itself!
Subsequent to the actual sound of massage there is a resting phase for tracking. In a final interview experiences can be communicated, and questions being answered.
What happens during a massage sound?
A special feature of the sound massage is that at the same time hearing and feeling are addressed. The harmonious sounds soothe the spirit, the gentle vibrations expanding from the vibrating singing bowl, spread over the skin, tissues, organs, bones, body cavities and fluid through the entire body. These vibrations gently loosen muscle tension and stimulate blood circulation and lymph flow. With the sound relaxation breathing, heartbeat, pulse, skin resistance, blood pressure, metabolism, and digestion can be affected - regeneration at all levels can be done.
The sound vibrations bring the "internal waters" in motion
To understand the physical effect of the sounds it is helpful to understand clearly that sound is vibration that is transmitted in the form of a sound wave. Sound travels very well in the liquid medium. Since the human body consists up to 80 percent of water, it reacts accordingly sensitive to sound vibrations, which constitute a uniform and thus "ordering" pulse.
The Water-Sound-Scientist Alexander Lauterwasser describes the special connection between tonal and liquids in his books. His impressive water-sound images lead the viewer the high "response ability" of water on sound in mind. The images show that the effects of sounds have nothing to do with "believe in it", but that there have an original, profound connection.
By external sounds to the inner sound
A balance between tension and relaxation, between activity and rest phases is a central aspect of health on all levels. Modern life often makes it difficult to maintain this delicate balance. Already children complain of excessive demands and too little time. The result of one-sided burden is chronic stress with all its negative effects on the physical, mental and emotional health. A conscious dealing with stress and balance is essential. Relaxation methods are therefore becoming increasingly important and are now an integral part also subsidized by health insurance measures of illness prevention.
In addition, neurobiologists like Prof. Dr. Gerald Huether show that a relaxed state is the optimal condition for learning or problem solving. The thoughts come to rest, the perception shifts from outside to inside. In a trance-like state of relaxation, there is a greater access to the "unconscious" to intuition and creativity, which, for example, hypnotherapy approaches specifically use. The sound massage as a holistic relaxation method can be used here purposefully and effectively.
Stress prevention with sound massage
Regular sound massage helps people to better cope with stress and develop a more positive body awareness. This is shown by a in 2007 carried out study with over 200 participants, conducted by the European Association of Sound Massage Therapy.
These studies included one sound massage every week over the period of 5 weeks. A 52-year-old participant who often woke up at night, especially in stress situations and could no longer sleep, reported that she could sleep all night through the week after having received the sound massage each time. After the fifth sound massage she said: "Even thinking about the sound massage is a relaxation."
Good sleep is the source for health and performance
As in the case example, many people report that they fall asleep more easily after a sound massage, better sleep through the night and in the morning feel rested and fresh - even if they suffer from insomnia for years.
"Sleep is the largest source for health and performance," said Günther W. Amann-Jennson Sleep-Psychologist. Sleep disorders can lead to obesity, high blood pressure, depression or heart disease. Accordingly a method that affects sleep positively protects, even against chronic diseases, which may arise as a result of the above complaints, and thus strengthens the health.
Sound Massage is a wonderful method for private use as well as a complementary technique for health professionals, like doctors, natural doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, massage therapists, beauty specialists, teachers at schools, yoga teachers and many more.
